Commissioners of Irish Lights

The headquarters of the Commissioners of Irish Lights is designed as a beacon along Dun Laoghaire’s waterfront. The contemporary building design reflects the modern ethos of the organisation and the structure provides a counterpoint to the various historic buildings nearby, which, in their own right, are prominent landmarks.

In 2021 the Commissioners of Irish Lights decided to embark on an ambitious lighting retrofit project to deliver a more energy effiicient lighting solution, with an emphasis on protecting the original design intent of the building.

NuLumenTek won the tender to design and supply a bespoke retrofit solution to retain the existing  lighting form factor.
The designed solution delivered significant energy savings and a reduced carbon footprint for future maintenance.
