Airport Concourse Lighting, Dublin
Airport Concourse Lighting, Dublin
Dublin Airport installed a communal seating area in the concourse retail area in T2. The area was designed to provide a space to allow passengers to pause, gather themselves, relax and absorb the retail offering while waiting for their flight. It was important to the airport to try and make the space feel calm and entice passengers to stay in the central concourse area, with a key objective to reduce crowding in the pier area.
The lighting brief asked for a design that created a sense of calm and relaxation in the busy concourse setting, while also being functional enabling people to eat and work effectively in this space.
To achieve this NuLumenTek worked with designers NYD to bring the lighting vision to life.
The lighting scheme includes lighting to create a canopy effect, enveloping passengers with a sense of calm.
With functional lighting installed at base level to make the area attractive and draw people towards the seating area.
